If you are looking to start an online business and haven’t started yet, I’m gonna tell you why you probably haven’t started, and how you can overcome such obstacles.
First of all, starting a business is not easy. It is like an active change. Did you know that the odds of you changing a behavior is nine to one. The odds are against you to begin with. But you can work your way against these odds and emerge victorious.
Maybe you have wanted to start an online business for a while, but can’t wrap your finger around why you haven’t started yet, even though you really want it.
So, in this post, we are going to take a look at the top 5 reasons why you haven’t started your online business. They are:
1. Start-up Capital
You can start your business without any money. Although in some of my teachings I show people how they can start an online business with $0.
However, if you are looking to start a serious business, you need to have some start-up funds to finance your business.
If you haven’t started your business because you lack the cash to start, you can ask for some loan from family members, friends and people you know. Unless absolutely necessary, I don’t really recommend going to the bank.
You can also opt in for crowd funding or something like that. Get people to invest in your business idea.
Having a piggy bank, where you deposit little cash in for your business is also a cool way to go about it.
2. Technical Know-how
Maybe you want to start an online business, but you have absolutely no idea how to go about it. There are two ways you can go about this. You can either learn how to do it, or you can outsource it to someone who can help you build your business.
The former is the best option, learn how to do these things by yourself. But you can hire someone to help you build it while you’re learning. When you learn the basic technical skills, you can take over and continue growing your business.
You should also know that online business changes everyday. You got to keep yourself up-to-date, keep reading and keep exploring.

A lot of people don’t launch their business because they are afraid of failing. Such fear stops you from doing anything.
The left side of your brain is the critic. It is programmed to keep you safe, so it puts that fear in you to keep you safe in your comfort zone. But unless you take a step and take risks, you won’t get anywhere.
How’d you know that you’re gonna fail without even trying? By not trying, you’ve already failed.
So you need to trick your brain, tell your brain that you’re just trying out. No harm in that, yeah?
Don’t worry about failing, focus on being your best and you’ll succeed.
Problem, brain? 😀
4. Lack of Clear Goal
Let’s start with an obvious fact, the truth that most people don’t wanna admit. Most people dive into online business because it’s easier to get into and make money (obviously myself included). While that’s all good, they don’t have a set goal they want to achieve with their business.
Sure, in relative thinking, making money is a goal. But it is not a definite goal you can rely on. Making money is a broad goal that almost everyone has. To make it actually a goal, you have to refine it to be based on the way you’ll go, from where you are to making money.
Does that make sense to you?
If you don’t have goals, you are like an aimless wanderer who walks around without a purpose.
You have to set goals for your business and work towards realizing those goals.
5. Poor Motivation
“Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t, you’re right.” – Henry Ford (one of my favorite quotes).
Motivation is the drive you need, to start and see something through. Without motivation, you don’t even feel like doing anything at all.
Even if you have a good plan, without motivation to execute the plan, nothing gets done.
Motivation is more especially needed when you are about to start something, than when you’ve already started it.
You need to find that motivation to start your business. The motivation could be from you, others, ideas, beliefs, or material gain. (Money is a good motivator).
The points above are the likely reasons why you haven’t launched your online start-up yet. Now that the crooks have been shown to you, it is time you took action.
